Events at GIT under IEEE Student branch

As an active student branch of the North Karnataka Sub-Section, IEEE GIT has helped few dormant student branches to revive itself and also guided new institutes to start a student branch. Earlier the members of the branch use to publish technical papers only. With its member strength growing, student activities and student technical symposiums were initiated. Gaining experiences from old conferences like GITCON in 90’s to INFINITY in 2004, IEEE Student Branch has come a long way in contributing to IEEE Community.

UDAAN 2020

IEEE GITs' WIE affinity group celebrated UDAAN on 7 th March 2020 celebrating the International Womans' day. Flash mob, Fun events like one-minute games, food stalls, musical chairs etc. and felicitation of non-teaching staff were held. Apart from this, discussions and debate were organised on the following topics: Women empowerment; Issues faced by women employees; Careers for women in engineering etc. Since 2 years IEEE-GIT appreciates the lady staffs of the institute by honouring them with essentials as a token of gratitude.
A panel discussion was held on- “Careers beyond Engineering”
The panelists invited were
1. Ms. Manjiri Tarcar(Caterer, Goa)
2. Ms. Jyotsana Pai (Pai Foods, Belagavi)
3. Ms. Amruta Redekar (Technifix Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai)
4. Ms. Deepti Desai (Photographer, Banglore).

IEEE EVENTS AT AVALANCHE 2020

Avalanche-The annual technical fest of KLS GIT is a fest like no other where you can showcase all your technical skills. There were four IEEE events in Avalanche’20 and those are flipped logic, project exhibition, micromatics, laser mazer. Avalanche’20 was one of the event with 1500 registration and IEEE had the maximum registration.

PAANCHJANYA

GIT student branch started its annual flagship event PAANCHAJANYA from 2006. The idea of Paanchajanya was conceived with the intention of bettering the techno-managerial skills of the students. Along with this aim it is also organized with the motto- ‘EDUTAINMENT’.

NK Hub-level event i-GREEN

IEEE SB was a part of NK Hub-level event i-GREEN organized in 2014. Theme - Global warming.

Student Leadership Program

This event is a part of membership drive. The target audience 1st and 3rd Semester students are attracted for membership.This event helps in business as well as marketing skills through the activities like product designing and selling the self-made product.

PCH 2015

PCH 2015 celebrated 30yrs of initiation of a Student chapter at GIT. (20yrs of being active since 1995-96) and 10yrs of PCH Dr. D H Rao, Prof. Hemant Kamat, Dr. Raghavendra V Kulkarni, Dr. G R Udupi, Prof V P Gejji were felicitated.

INFINITY

IEEE GIT Student Branch had the first inter-college Annual event.The student branch has successfully organised Student Symposiums named INFINITY in 2004

UDAAN 2020
